HomeSteward Privacy Policy

HomeSteward stores your home maintenance data on your device. The app has no accounts, no custom backend, no analytics or tracking SDKs, and does not sell data. Its App Store privacy answer is “Data Not Collected.”
Information You May Choose to Store
- Property details such as a nickname, an optional address, and year built.
- Assets (appliances and home systems) with make, model, serial, room, install date, warranty date, and a nameplate photo.
- Maintenance tasks, service history, dates, costs, and notes.
- Receipt/photo attachments, and CSV records or owner's-manual PDFs you choose to import and review.
- An Anthropic or OpenAI API key, if you choose to use AI-assisted manual extraction.
How Data Leaves Your Device
HomeSteward data stays on your device unless you choose an action that sends or shares it.
- AI-assisted manual extraction sends the selected owner's-manual text to Anthropic or OpenAI only after you enable it for that import and choose a provider — using your own API key.
- Exports (CSV/PDF) leave the app only through destinations you pick in the system share sheet.
- HomeSteward Pro purchases are processed by Apple's StoreKit in-app purchase system.
AI-Assisted Manual Extraction
AI-assisted manual extraction is off by default and never runs without a per-import confirmation. HomeSteward has no server and never receives your API key or your manual — the request goes directly from your device to the provider you choose. Extracted maintenance suggestions are saved only as review candidates until you approve them. Your API key is stored in the Keychain on your device and is not bundled with the app.
Importing Records
HomeSteward can import a CSV of your home inventory, including exports from other apps such as Centriq. Imported records are reviewed before they are saved and stay on your device.
Local Features
HomeSteward may use Apple's local frameworks for local notifications, Home/Lock Screen widgets through an App Group snapshot, Siri Shortcuts/App Intents, file/photo selection, and the system share sheet.
Tracking and Analytics
HomeSteward does not include tracking SDKs, analytics SDKs, advertising SDKs, a custom account system, or a custom backend.
iCloud Sync
HomeSteward does not currently sync your data with iCloud. If iCloud sync is added later, this policy and the App Store privacy answers will be updated before release.
