Your home records stay on your device by default.

Information you may choose to store

• Property details such as a nickname, optional address, and year built.
• Appliances and home systems, including make, model, serial number, room, installation date, warranty date, and nameplate photo.
• Maintenance tasks, dates, status inputs, service history, costs, notes, and receipt attachments.
• CSV records and owner’s-manual PDFs or text you choose to import and review.
• An Anthropic or OpenAI API key if you choose optional AI-assisted manual extraction.

These records are stored locally using Apple system storage. HomeSteward does not currently sync them through iCloud or a HomeSteward server.

When information leaves your device

HomeSteward sends or shares information only when you start a feature that requires it:

• Optional AI extraction: selected owner’s-manual text and item context are sent directly to Anthropic or OpenAI after you choose a provider, provide your own API key, and consent for that import. The provider’s terms govern its processing.
• Exports: CSV or PDF files leave HomeSteward only through a destination you select in Apple’s share sheet.
• Purchases: Apple processes HomeSteward Pro purchases and restoration through StoreKit. HomeSteward receives verified entitlement status, not your payment credentials.
• Support: information leaves your device only when you choose to email support and include it.

AI-assisted manual extraction

This feature is off by default and requires consent for each import. HomeSteward uses the API key you provide for the chosen service. The key is stored in Apple Keychain on your device and is not bundled with the app or sent to KLR Web Solutions. Extracted suggestions remain review candidates until you approve them. Consult the chosen provider’s privacy and retention terms before use.

Imports and exports

CSV records are reviewed before they are saved. Raw CSV exports contain their declared item, plan, or history columns and stable identifiers. They do not contain nameplate/receipt image bytes, manual PDF bytes, app settings, or every relationship needed to recreate the full app state. They are portable copies, not full backups.

Local preferences and Apple features

HomeSteward may store selected-home state, reminder choices, setup progress, entitlement cache, and review-prompt milestones in local preferences. These values are not analytics and are not sent to KLR Web Solutions. The app may also use Apple’s local notifications, widgets through an App Group snapshot, Siri Shortcuts/App Intents, file and photo pickers, and system share sheet.

Tracking, analytics, and advertising

HomeSteward does not include analytics, tracking, advertising, or third-party crash-reporting SDKs. It has no custom account system or custom data backend.

Data deletion and device loss

You can delete individual records in the app. Deleting HomeSteward through iOS removes its local app data. Because iCloud sync is not currently included, uninstalling the app or losing the device may make records unrecoverable. User-created exports are managed wherever you chose to save them.

App Store privacy disclosure

Apple’s disclosure terminology may treat some data sent to a third-party service as collected depending on that provider’s retention and use. The App Store privacy answers for each submitted version are reviewed against the optional Anthropic/OpenAI flow and the providers’ then-current terms. This policy describes the feature’s actual data flow whether or not an optional disclosure exception applies.

Changes to this policy

If HomeSteward adds a materially different data practice, including iCloud sync or a developer-operated service, this policy and the App Store privacy disclosures will be updated before that feature is released.
