HomeSteward Support
For help, email support@klrwebsolutions.com. Please do not send API keys, addresses, serial numbers, receipts, manuals, or other sensitive records.
Getting started
- Add your home.
- Choose “Set up common items” to select appliances and systems. A Free plan can add ten items; if twelve are selected, the remaining two stay selected while HomeSteward explains Pro.
- Review each generic starter estimate and adjust it for your actual equipment and manufacturer guidance.
- Use Mark Done when work is completed. HomeSteward writes a history entry and calculates the next occurrence.
- Opt in to local task and warranty reminders when they are useful to you, or manage them later in Settings.
What works in Free?
HomeSteward Free includes one home, up to ten appliances or systems, maintenance tasks and service history, the common-items library, local reminders, CSV import, raw items/tasks/history CSV copies, widgets, and Siri Shortcuts. Existing records remain visible and editable even when Pro is unavailable.
HomeSteward Pro and Restore Purchases
Pro is a one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase. Apple’s purchase sheet shows the current localized price. It adds unlimited homes and items, receipt and nameplate photos, owner’s-manual PDFs, optional bring-your-own-key AI manual extraction, and a home maintenance overview PDF.
If you already purchased Pro
- Make sure the device is signed in to the Apple Account that made the purchase and has an internet connection.
- Open HomeSteward → Settings → HomeSteward Pro → Restore Purchases. Restore is also available on the Pro screen.
- Let the restore finish, then return to the action you started. HomeSteward also rechecks verified access when the app becomes active.
- If access still does not appear, restart the app and email support with the app version and exact message shown. Do not email purchase credentials.
A pending purchase has not yet been completed by Apple, so HomeSteward cannot unlock Pro until StoreKit verifies it. For billing or refund requests, use Apple’s Report a Problem.
Do not delete the app as a troubleshooting step. HomeSteward has no account or iCloud sync. Deleting it can remove local records unless you have preserved the information separately.
CSV import and export
- Import any number of existing items for free, including reviewable records in the supported Centriq format. Adding new items manually requires Pro once this home has ten items.
- Review imported records before saving. HomeSteward does not recover data that was never exported from another service.
- Raw item, maintenance-plan, and service-history CSV exports are free.
- CSV files contain their declared columns and stable identifiers but not receipt/nameplate images, manual PDF bytes, or app settings. They are portable copies, not a full restorable backup.
- The home maintenance overview PDF is a Pro feature; its in-app preview is available before purchase. Includes the latest service per item; full history is available in free CSV.
Manuals and optional AI extraction
Owner’s-manual PDF storage requires Pro. Optional extraction uses an Anthropic or OpenAI API key you provide and runs only after per-import consent. Selected text goes directly from your device to the provider; HomeSteward does not operate an AI proxy. Suggestions stay in review until you approve them.
Before contacting support
- Confirm the device runs the iOS version listed on the current App Store product page.
- Force quit and reopen HomeSteward once.
- Include the HomeSteward version, iOS version, number of homes/items, and exact steps that reproduce the issue.
- For import issues, identify CSV or owner’s-manual PDF and the chosen AI provider, if any—but never send the API key.
- Redact addresses, serial numbers, receipts, manuals, and other personal details from screenshots.
Current limitations
HomeSteward does not currently include iCloud sync, household collaboration, automatic appliance identification, or automatic manual lookup. Core records work offline; optional AI extraction and purchase verification require their respective network services.
